The Palette window


The Palette window displays the current palette that is selected in the Browser window. For example, the Palette window below shows the colors defined for the Painters' palette:

Color palettes provide you with a very flexible way of working. You can save time and effort by copying single palette wells, blocks of palette wells or entire palettes between color models. For more information, refer to Copying palettes between color models.

Selecting palette wells

To select a palette well, click on the palette in the Palette window.

Alternatively, you can use the pre-defined keyboard shortcuts that are mapped to the palette wells:

The first row is mapped to the QWERTY letter row on your keyboard. Subsequent rows are mapped to the rows beneath this row, up to a maximum of two further rows, making a total of 30 wells as shown below:

You can choose whether or not to have the keyboard shortcuts displayed in the Palette window; see Setting the display of keyboard shortcuts in the Palette window.
